More on interesting blogs

Currently (as I write this), my top read posts contain two posts I wrote about books. If I look at the posts from the last 10 days, I find posts about books take 4 of the top 10 spots. I just found this fascinating. In fact one of my best few days in blogging (most visitors in a 24 hour period) came after I wrote about my favorite books.

This got me thinking. If I’m not in a play, I tend to read a great deal. Recently my tastes have been stuck in Science Fiction and Mysteries, but I will read different things at different times. Really different at some times, during my high school days I read 4 different encyclopedia sets from A to Z. Ok, one of them was a children’s set I read again, but I did read it during High School.

Anyway, I was thinking I need to take my reading in a new direction. So if you have a book you really like, please respond. I’m going to try to read as many as I can. I’m a quick reader, so depending on the list, it may not take too long.

Yes, this is another one of those posts designed to change lurkers into responders…..

Recent books I’ve read ….

Why did it have to be Snakes (Mysteries of Indiana Jones) Lois H. Gresh and Robert Weinberg

The Early Asimov — Isaac Asimov

Sherlock Holmes and the case of Sabina Hall L. B. Greenwood

and re-reading A Morbid Taste for Bones — Ellis Peters

  1. There is a series of further Indiana Jones novels out there. I have never read them myself, but they might be interesting.

  2. Knowing what a fan of his you are you prolly already have read them. Book series spun off of movies can be hit or miss. The multiple Star Wars series are interesting as you already know.

  3. Monkeys on the Interstate by Jack Hanna. Doesn’t really seem like your kind of book, but I’d be willing to bet a certain daughter of yours would LOVE it! I’m always into non-fiction, myself. Recently I’ve been reading a lot (cuz I know I won’t get to when I’m up all night with the baby) and I’ve read a book about a child land mine victim who emmigrated to the US; also a book about the Burnhams – a couple who was held hostage in the Phillapines for just over a year. Both very interesting reads, if you are interested in learning about circumstances in other countries far from home. Right now I’m reading about a family who bicycled from NY to CA – I am in awe as their kids were 13, 11, and only 3 years old when they did this!

  4. jamiahsh, I didn’t know there were Indiana Jones Novels. I’ll have to check it out, as long as they aren’t just novelizations of the movies. The Star Wars series, I’ve read a lot of them, but I got tired after book 203 (I’m not sure what one it was, but I know there are a lot of them) 😉

taylhis, I’ll have to look for the Jack Hanna book. I read books of this type before, and enjoyed them. Do you have Titles and/or Authors for the other books?

I just got a couple of books by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. Very good Mystery/Thrillers. I started in the middle of a series with a book call Brimstone. It was able to stand on its own without reading the earlier books. Now I have the first in the series.

  5. Yes, the Indy books are original novels but were published a few years back. I thought with the new movie they would reissue them… check the library. I quit reading the still on-going SW series some time ago also.
